Vehicles we accept in Charleston

Cars, trucks, SUVs, motorcycles, boats, RVs — running or not, clean title or complicated.

Wheels of Hope is proud to accept nearly any vehicle, whether it's drivable or not. Your donation can make a significant difference in our community by funding vital programs that connect local residents to resources like SNAP and WIC. From family cars to old work trucks, we welcome a wide range of vehicles. While some may think their non-running car is worthless, we believe every donation has potential. Join us in making our Charleston community stronger with your vehicle donation!

Categories we accept

Cars & Sedans
1995-present

Donated cars and sedans are often auctioned off to the highest bidder, generating funds for our services. Others may be refurbished for community needs or disassembled for parts, depending on their condition.

Charleston's streets are filled with local commuters, making donated sedans crucial for families needing affordable transportation.

Pickup Trucks
1995-present

Pickup trucks are frequently sold at auction or refurbished for local workers. Their versatility makes them valuable, whether they're for work or play.

With our charming Lowcountry landscape, many locals rely on pickup trucks for both jobs and outdoor activities, making them a sought-after donation.

SUVs & Crossovers
1995-present

SUVs and crossovers can often be resold or recycled for parts. Their spaciousness makes them a preferred choice among families in need.

These vehicles are perfect for Charleston families, providing the space needed for outings to Folly Beach or trips to local farms.

Motorcycles
1995-present

Motorcycles are typically auctioned or sold to enthusiasts. Some may be repaired and revitalized, bringing joy to new riders.

Charleston's warm climate makes motorcycles a popular choice for weekend rides along the scenic coast.

RVs & Campers
1995-present

RVs and campers are often sold for parts or refurbished. They can also provide valuable resources in local outreach programs.

Charleston's proximity to beautiful camping areas makes RV donations particularly valuable to families who enjoy exploring the outdoors.

Boats
1995-present

Boats can be auctioned or refurbished for local water enthusiasts, providing valuable funds for community programs.

With our coastal charm, boat donations are embraced by families looking to enjoy time on the water around Charleston's beautiful waterways.

Commercial Vehicles
1995-present

Commercial vehicles may be auctioned or repurposed for local businesses, helping to generate income and support community initiatives.

Charleston's bustling business scene makes commercial vehicle donations a vital part of our local economy.

Non-running Vehicles
Any year

Even non-running vehicles can be valuable. They may be sold for parts or recycled to extract metals and other materials.

Many old vehicles sit unused in Charleston garages or backyards, and donating them helps to clear space while supporting local programs.

Condition guide

When it comes to vehicle donations, the condition of your vehicle matters but shouldn't discourage you from considering a donation. Running vehicles are obviously more straightforward, easily sold at auction or refurbished. However, even non-running vehicles can qualify for donations. They could be recycled for parts or materials, providing funds for our mission.

It’s important to note that vehicles with salvage titles, or those that have been significantly damaged, may still be accepted on a case-by-case basis. Just because a car has issues doesn’t mean it can’t contribute to the community. If you're uncertain about your vehicle's eligibility, don’t hesitate to reach out to us for more information.
